Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2021 for Lower Primary and Upper Primary level
It is for general information that the Government of Assam has decided to conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2021 for Lower Primary and Upper Primary levels for the state of Assam. Online applications are invited from the candidates having permanent residence in the state of Assam who intends to appear in Paper I (Lower Primary) and Paper-II (Upper Primary) of TET are requested to apply before the closing date.

It is observed that alter possessing requisite eligibility criteria, the TET qualified teachers after engagement in the schools as per (their preferences. still apply for transfers to school located in other district. This prevents the teachers from becoming truly invested in and building relationships with the children, School and the community where they serve.

Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)2021
Considering this, the districts have been grouped into several zones and a candidate has to select this preferred Zone while applying for the TET. Alter qualifying in TET, he or she will get preference for engagement as a teacher in his preferred Zone in accordance with the Government notification. This will be applicable for both regular and contractual posts.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of a candidate to appear in TET are as follows:
The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
Candidate must have a minimum academic and professional qualification as per NCTE norms as follows:
Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (Classes Ito V)
a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V. provided the person so appointed as a teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE. within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.
b) However, a candidate who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI. as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February 2011, may also apply for TET. However, he/she can apply for an appointment only after acquiring all the required qualifications.
Remark: Candidate admitted into 2 years D.EI.Ed program before 31st August 2009: Please refer to Clause B under the subheading Relaxation.
Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)
a) Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed. (Special Education)
Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 29th July, 2011.
b) However, a person who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year Examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI. as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However he/she can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.
Remark: Candidate admitted into 1-Year B.Ed. program before 31st August 2009: Please refer to Clause C under subheading Relaxation.
Relaxation: Following relaxation will be applicable
Relaxation up to 5 % in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation shall be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST.OBC/ MOBC/PWD(PH) to appear in TET (The degree of handicap in case of PH candidates should be minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent authority) both for Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level).
For Paper-I (LP Level) relaxation up to 5% in HSSLC marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 2-Year D.EI.Ed before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and qualified 2-Year D.EI.Ed subsequently.
For Paper-II (UP Level) relaxation up to 5% in Graduation marks shall be applicable for candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. before 31/0812009 as per NCTE Notification No, F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and qualified 1-Year B.Ed. subsequently.

How To Apply For Assam TET LP & UP Teacher Eligibility Test
Steps for submission of on-line application and examination fee are
a) Log in through the website https://ssa.assam.gov.in or https://sebaonline.org
b) Download Instruction Manual.
c) Read carefully the Instruction Manual on how to submit the online application form.
d) Submit Online Application and upload Passport size colour Photograph, Signature, Pass Certificate of Professional Qualification, Final Year admit card of ongoing professional course (in case of candidates pursuing professional qualification) of recommended size as mentioned in Instruction Manual).
e) The candidate has to pay the fee through online banking/credit card/ debit card etc.
