APSC Junior Engineer (Civil) Syllabus

Dear Candidates APSC has released fresh Syllabus at the official site. Here we have updated the new syllabus to make it easy for quick preparation for the post of Junior Engineer(Civil) under the Department of Panchayat & Rural Development.

APSC New Syllabus 2021 For Civil Engineers

In Paper- I (General Studies) (Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions)

Full Marks: 100 Marks

Time Duration: 2.00 (two) Hours

In Paper-I there was a two section. In section-I, carry 60 marks under general study which will be multiple-choice means objective type questions. Each question carries 1 mark.

APSC Junior Engineer (Civil) Syllabus

In Section- A: Carry 60 marks

(i) Current events of national & international importance.

(ii) History of India & Indian freedom movement.

(iii) History of Assam.

(iv) Geography of India & Assam.

(v) Indian Polity & Constitution of India.

(vi) Literature, Sports, Tribes, Culture and festivals of Assam & North East.

(vii) Environment/ Ecology of Assam.

 (viii) Role and impact of Science and Technology.

(ix ) General mental ability.

(x) Economy of India & Assam.


In Section- B: Carry 40 marks

In Section-II, carry 40 marks, all are objective types which carry 1 marks by each.


(i) Rural Development schemes/ programmes of Govt. of India & Govt. of Assam.

(ii) Poverty alleviation programmes of Govt. of India and Govt. of Assam.

(iii) Five years of plans and rural economy.

(iv) Panchayati Raj system.

 (v) Technology used for the implementation of Rural Development schemes/ programmes.


In Paper-II, this is the technical trade, where all questions come from your own trade means questions will be raised from Civil Engineering subjects as prescribed below.

(Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions)

 (1) Engineering Surveying

(2) Cost estimation

(3) Building Material

(4) Strength of Materials

(5) Hydraulics

(6) Irrigation Engineering (including Flood Control & Protection)

(7) Public Health (Water Supply & Sanitary) Engineering

(8) Soil Mechanics

(9) Theory of Structure

(10) R.C.C. & Steel Structure (Drawing & Details)

(11) Building Construction

 (12) Construction Management

(13) Transportation Engineering (Rural Roads & Cross Drainage)

(14) Environmental Engineering
